The world is currently undergoing massive change: familiar paths no longer provide guidance, and stories are waiting to be rewritten. The question is no longer whether something will change – but what role each individual will play in this transformation.
Lucas de Man brings a new lecture-performance to the stage of the Alumni Lecture Theatre – and, together with the audience, explores the question of what it means to be ready for a ‘tomorrow’. He demonstrates why humanity is not facing a crisis, but rather a turning point – a moment full of possibilities. A moment in which everyone can choose to participate actively rather than watch passively. It is about prioritising democracy over distance, nature over exploitation, and a sense of community over hyper-individualised and profit-driven loneliness.
If you want a different future, you must take an active step towards it – together with your fellow human beings.
What you won’t find in the Alumni Lecture Theatre: a talk about ready-made solutions. Instead, Lucas de Man invites you to take action and calls on you to help write the next chapter of our shared history.
Internationally, the artist, author, presenter and CEO of ‘Company New Heroes’ works at the intersection of research and society. Through his creative approach, he makes transformation processes tangible and human, always keeping our own capacity for action in mind.
